The new preferred route for HS2 has been published and the amended route between Middlewich and Northwich will now come closer to Northwich and follow the A556.

CPRE Cheshire had been approached by Mid Cheshire Against HS2 to contribute a £1,000 towards a commissioned report of a Ground Engineering Assessment by TerraConsult Ltd. However, an anonymous donation has been made to fund the report.
