This nationally touring play was held at Tarporley Community Hall.

Despite the extremely cold and icy conditions on Tuesday evening, the 27th February 2018 almost 100 people attended this special performance by Graham Harvey, for twenty years the Agricultural Story Editor of The Archers and writer of more than 600 episodes which brought to the stage the true tale of an unlikely Cotswold hero and an enduring romance.

The play was an excellent one person performance with Rebecca Bailey giving a sterling non stop performance on stage for 80 minutes, and featured new live music composed and performed by Alastair Collingwood who has written scores for numerous theatre shows, including Betty in London’s West End, directed by Kathy Burke, and Cora with Dana Gillespie, which also toured the USA.

There was then a 20 minute interval, with a glass of complimentary wine enjoyed by many. The writer, Graham Harvey, then took to the stage for a discussion with Antony Bellekom (Producer) about the play and all things Archers.

The audience asked many questions, with many an Archers fan wanting to know what they could expect from storylines in the future!

A thank you goes out to the entire production team and the staff and volunteers at CPRE Cheshire who helped to bring this unique performance to Tarporley.
