Warrington Local Plan review - Preferred Options Consultation

Monday, 02 October 2017 11:42

CPRE Cheshire submits response.

In 2012, the consultation into the Warrington Local Plan began. In July 2014, it was adopted with 839 homes to be built per annum over the plan period.

A developer then challenged the Council in the High Court on the basis of the housing figures and other issues. The decision resulted in the Council having to review the Local Plan in terms of Housing and Employment land.

There are pressures at the National level to increase housing numbers plus pressure from developers to release Green Belt land.

This preferred option consultation will become part of the evidence for the actual draft Local Plan which will appear next Spring for consultation, followed by an Inquiry decided by a Government Inspector.

CPRE Cheshire has submitted a response which is attached below.
